Scott Spurlock is an assistant professor in the Computer Science Department at Elon University. He teaches a variety of courses, including Algorithm Analysis, Data Mining and Machine Learning, and Computer Vision. His research focuses on applying machine learning to computer vision problems. He is particularly interested in developing algorithms for human behavior understanding. Scott received his Ph.D. in Computing and Information Systems from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2015 under the direction of Richard Souvenir. Prior to graduate school, Scott also worked in industry for several years as a software engineer, project manager, and consultant. He developed websites, databases, and business applications for a variety of large companies.
