I work in the cutting-edge research area of Visual Text Analytics, which integrates statstical and machine learning methods with powerful interactive visualization for analyzing large amounts of textual data.
John Gero is a Research Professor in the Department of Computer Science and in the School of Architecture and is concurrently a Research Professor at the Krasnow Institute for Advanced Study, George Mason University. He is the author or editor of 50 books and over 600 papers and book chapters in the fields of design science, design computing, artificial intelligence, computer-aided design, and design cognition.

Siddharth is a new faculty in the department of computer science (college ofcomputing) at UNCC. His research interests are in web-mining, data analytics, computational social science, and applied machine learning with a primary emphasis on analyzing, characterizing, and forecasting information (news, rumors, memes, advertisements, etc.) dynamics on online social networks & social media.
Dr. Lee received his Ph.D. in computer science from Colorado State University. His research interests focus on machine learning, with an emphasis on reinforcement learning, transfer learning, sparse learning, multiagent learning, fine control based policy development and robust knowledge augmentation. He received REUSSI/NSF funding for research with Inria, France in 2012 and investigated robust high dimensional clustering models for biomedical data.
Mary Lou Maher, Ph.D., most recently a Senior Research Scientist in the iSchool at the University of Maryland and Honorary Professor of Design Computing in the Design Lab at the University of Sydney, is joining the College of Computing and Informatics as the Chair of the Department of Software and Information Systems. Mary Lou completed a BSc at Columbia University in 1979, and a MS and Ph.D. at Carnegie Mellon University, completing the Ph.D. in 1984.
