The Department of Computer Science is the largest department in College of Computing and Informatics with close to 40 full-time faculty members. Faculty expertise encompasses areas of traditional computer science including the cutting edge efforts in visualization/visual analytics, robotics, networking, video and image processing, cloud and high-performance computing, cognitive computing, recommender systems, and data mining.
The breadth of CS is revealed in both its curriculum and research. The CS Department offers its students undergraduate concentrations in Data Science; Artificial intelligence, Robotics and Gaming; and Software, Systems and Networks. The department maintains large MS and PhD programs, with over 450 graduate students.
